Japan’s ferrous scrap exports grow in Jan-Oct

According to Japan's customs statistics, Japan's ferrous scrap exports amounted to around 6.4 million tons in the first ten months of this year, rising by 22.8% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, shipments to Vietnam increased by 39% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year, reaching 2.8 million tons. This was followed by Bangladesh with 1.15 million tons, which surged by 129%, and South Korea with 1.05 million tons, which decreased by 21% year on year.

In October alone, Japan exported about 750,000 tons of ferrous scrap, a year-on-year growth of 35%.
