US’ steel scrap exports grow in Aug m-o-m

According to statistics from the US International Trade Commission (USITC), the US exported around 1.11 million tons of steel scrap in August, increasing by 11% from the previous month but falling by 34% from the same month a year ago.

These exports were worth around US$483 million, up by 11% month on month and down by 29% year on year.

Among them, Turkey was the top destination with roughly 323,000 tons, hiking by 24% month on month and falling by 68% year on year. Vietnam ranked second with a procurement of about 149,000 tons, followed by Taiwan with 86,000 tons.
