Metso Corp., a Finnish industrial machinery company, has signed a contract with Greta Energy Limited to deliver a traveling grate pelletizing plant in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, India. This is the second recent compact-sized pellet plant order Metso has received in India, though the value remains undisclosed.

The new plant, with a three-meter-wide indurating machine, represents a first-of-its-kind installation in India at this scale and using this specific technology, according to Greta Energy Chairman Nitesh Chaudhari.

The installation includes proprietary equipment, instrumentation, and control systems. Greta Energy expects the plant will achieve an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons and become an important model for smaller-scale pellet production in the region.
