4 African countries’ crude steel output decreases in Sep m-o-m, y-o-y

According to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), in September, the crude steel output of four African countries, including Egypt, South Africa, Libya, and Tunisia, amounted to 1.33 million tons, falling by 13.1% month on month and decreasing by 4.1% year on year.

In the first nine months, the production was about 11.89 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.

In September, the output in Egypt, the leading steel manufacturing country in Africa, decreased by 5.9% year on year to 831,000 tons. In the first nine months, the output went up by 2.6% year on year to 7.46 million tons.
