Brazil's crude steel production increases in Sep y-o-y

Brazil's crude steel production in September this year was 2.84 million tons, down by 4% month on month and up nearly 10% year on year. The production in the first nine months of this year amounted to around 25 million tons, up by 4.4% compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

In terms of semi-finished products, Brazil's production in September was 794,000 tons, down by 1.4% month on month, of which slabs were 706,000 tons. The production in the first nine months of this year was 6.7 million tons, down by nearly 6% year on year.

As for rolled products, the production in September was about 2 million tons, down by 1.3% month on month and up by 11% year on year. The production of flat products and long products was 1.2 million tons and 879,000 tons respectively. The production of rolled products in the first nine months of this year was 18 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 7%.

In September, Brazil's apparent steel consumption was 2.4 million tons, down by 2.6% month on month and up by 9% year on year. The consumption in the first nine months of this year was nearly 20 million tons, rising by 8.4% from the same period last year.
