According to statistics from Brazil Steel Institute (Instituto Aço Brasil, IABr), the country’s crude steel production totaled around 2.8 million tons in November, rising by 2% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, Brazil’s rolled steel production rose by 6% year on year to 1.9 million tons. The output of long products was up by 22% year on year to 922,000 tons, and that of flat products fell by 5% year on year to 1 million tons.

In November, Brazil's steel imports rose by 9% year on year to 387,000 tons, while exports plunged by 48% year on year to 501,000 tons.

In the first 11 months of this year, Brazil’s crude steel production amounted to approximately 31.2 million tons. Steel imports grew by 24% to 5.6 million tons, and steel exports slid by 19% to 8.9 million tons, both year on year.
