Brazil’s crude steel production slightly decreases by 1.6% in Feb y-o-y

According to data from the Brazil Steel Institute (Instituto Aço Brasil, IABr), the nation's crude steel production totaled approximately 2.7 million tons in February, a 1.6% decrease compared to the same month in the previous year.

During this period, Brazil's production of rolled steel products grew by 0.8% year on year to around 1.9 million tons. The output of long products rose by 1.6% year on year to 808,000 tons, and the production of flat products slightly increased by 0.2% year on year to roughly 1 million tons.

Besides, Brazil's steel imports hiked by 5% year on year, reaching 469,000 tons, and exports also had a year-on-year increase of 29.3% to 892,000 tons.
