A A A
Argentina’s crude steel production reached around 316,000 tons in February, up by 5.6% from the previous month, according to statistics. However, the production of hot-rolled coil (HRC) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) saw steep month-on-month declines of 72% and 59%, respectively. Long products also fell by 5% to roughly 115,000 tons.

Compared to January 2024, overall crude steel output fell 2.2%, with rolled products impacted by unscheduled plant stoppages and slow demand recovery. Civil construction output dropped by 11% month on month but rose by 8% year on year.

Meanwhile, automotive sector production rose by 42% from January and 14% from a year ago. Machinery and agriculture equipment demand also grew by 30% year on year, while energy sector sales remained stable.
