Turkey's coated steel imports surge 44% in Q1 y-o-y

23 May 2025 16:19 reported by Iona Chen

A A A
According to statistics, Turkey imported around 262,000 tons of coated steel with a width of more than 600 mm in the first quarter of 2025, a 44% increase compared to the previous year, primarily from Asia.

Turkey initiated anti-dumping investigations into cold-rolled products, galvanized steel, and pre-painted steel products imported from China and South Korea at the end of 2024. However, these investigations did not impact the import volume of coated steel.

South Korea was the largest supplier during the period, with the supply reaching 83,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, up 49% year-on-year. China's imports rose to 55,800 tons. Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, and the Netherlands exported about 36,000 tons, 33,000 tons, 14,000 tons, 13,000 tons, and 11,300 tons to Turkey, respectively.
