Turkish steel producer Sarıtaş Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ has commenced an investment in an integrated stainless steel facility in the Yalova Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, aiming to raise Turkey’s export capacity and reduce import reliance.

The four-phase project is expected to reach full capacity by 2030, producing 800,000 tons annually and creating 1,200 jobs. The first two phases, focusing on cold rolling and offering 400,000 tons of annual output, are planned to be put into operation in 2027.

Subsequent phases include a hot rolling plant by 2028 and an on-site melting facility by 2030, enabling full integration from raw steel to finished products. The plant will feature energy-efficient equipment, process automation systems, digital traceability solutions, and waste recycling infrastructures, meeting Turkey’s green targets, which is a strategic move toward industrial independence.
