According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports reached around 1.1 million tons in the first four months of this year, falling by 28% compared to the year-ago period. The import value dropped by 36% year on year to US$607 million.

Among them, the supply from China accounted for the largest share, totaling roughly 301,000 tons, dropping significantly by 52% from 801,000 tons in the corresponding period a year ago.

In April alone, Turkey imported around 228,000 tons of HRC, rising by 24% month on month and falling by 39% year on year. The value generated by these imports was approximately US$131 million, up by 17% from the preceding month and down by 47% year on year.
