On June 30, 2025, Brazil's government launched an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on hot-rolled stainless steel flat products from China, India, and Indonesia, following an application filed by Aperam Inox América do Sul S.A. in October last year.

After a preliminary analysis of the documents submitted, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) concluded that there was sufficient evidence to demonstrate the existence of dumping, injury to the domestic industry, and a causal relationship between the two.

The period of the investigation is from July 2023 to June 2024, and the period of injury analysis is from July 2019 to June 2024.

The products involved are hot-rolled stainless steel flat products, in the form of coils or sheets, with a thickness equal to or greater than 2 mm and equal to or less than 50.8 mm. These products are commonly classified under tariff codes 7219.11.00, 7219.12.00, 7219.13.00, 7219.14.00, 7219.21.00, 7219.22.00, 7219.23.00, 7219.24.00, 7220.11.00, 7220.12.20, and 7220.12.90 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).
