According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China's stainless steel exports totaled around 390,000 tons in June, falling by 10.6% compared to the previous month and by 14% from the same month a year ago. Among them, exports to major destinations like Turkey and the UAE had significant declines, falling by 23.1% and 31.2%, respectively.

An industry insider attributed the downturn to tariff issues and global trade flow uncertainties, particularly concerning US tariff policies.

While stainless steel exports to Vietnam, China's largest export destination, also fell in June, down by 8.5% month on month and by 1.1% year on year to 41,400 tons.

In the first half of this year, China’s stainless steel exports amounted to about 2.5 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 5.7%.

In terms of imports, China imported around 109,500 tons in June, falling by 13% month on month and by 17% year on year. The first-half imports totaled around 827,500 tons, down by 25.3% year on year.
