According to data published by Brazil's National Institute of Steel Distributors (INDA), the country's flat steel purchases reached 310,000 tons in June of this year, a monthly drop of 8.7% and a year-over-year fall of 12.1%.

Besides, flat steel sales in June reached 313,000 tons, a monthly drop of 4.6% and a year-over-year decrease of 7.3%.

On the other hand, Brazil's imports of flat steel products reached 371,000 tons, a monthly drop of 11.2%; however, it increased by 75.8% compared to the same month last year.

For July, INDA expects flat steel purchases and sales to increase by 5% compared to June.
