On July 24, the Southern Donghai Steel Project officially launched its hot-rolling plant in Guangdong Metal Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Industrial Park. This project, with a total investment of CNY 18 billion, is a core component of the province's initiative to build a 100-billion-yuan green steel industry base.

Upon full completion, the project is expected to produce 7.2 million tons of premium steel products annually, including high-strength steel, cold-rolled steel for stamping, and steel for new energy vehicles.
Besides, the project is expected to generate an annual value of CNY 40 billion and create more than 5,000 jobs.

Utilizing advanced electric arc furnace technology and a short-process manufacturing route, the project focuses on green, low-carbon production and scrap steel recycling, supporting the region's economic growth and industrial modernization.
