Tata Steel announced that it has commenced galvanized steel coil production at the newly built Cold Rolling Mill complex in its Kalinganagar plant in Odisha.

The facility’s first Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL-1), equipped with advanced technology including third-generation air-knife and oxidation chamber, will produce high-quality coated steel, including Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) for automotive and appliance sectors.

Part of the plant’s Rs 27,000 crore second phase expansion, CGL-1 helped boost Kalinganagar’s annual capacity from 3 million tons to 8 million tons, alongside new pellet and coke plants.
