India’s Shyam Metalics reports growth in Jul stainless steel output

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (SMEL), an India-based metal producing company, reported that its stainless steel production reached approximately 8,100 tons in July, rising by 42% compared to the same month a year ago.

Meanwhile, output of aluminum foil was around 1,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9%; that of specialty alloys was about 21,800 tons, up by 13% year on year; that of carbon steel was 138,600 tons, rising by 5.7% year on year.

However, despite these production growth, the company experienced a decline in sponge iron and pellet production, totaling roughly 68,600 tons and 88,000 tons, respectively.

In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026, the company's consolidated net profit grew by 5.8% year on year to Rs 292.15 crore, with a 22% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations at Rs 4,418.84 crore.
