Taiwan's steel exporters regain pricing power due to rising international steel prices

12 Aug 2025 14:40 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwanese export steel companies, including Yieh Phui, Prosperity Tieh Enterprise, Sheng Yu Steel, and China Steel Global Trading, are regaining pricing power for exports because international steel prices have risen, providing support for their pricing strategies.

Market participants said that the global steel market has shown a strong recovery since August, with leading mills in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and the EU raising their prices.

This price upward trend is occurring despite the third quarter being a traditional off-season for the steel industry due to summer heat and rainy seasons affecting construction and transport. The unexpected strength in a typically weak period has increased market confidence for the future.
