Indian stainless steel industry seeks AD measures on low-priced imports

The Indian stainless steel industry is seeking anti-dumping (AD) measures on cheap imports. According to Jindal Stainless Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal, the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA) has filed a petition with the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) at the end of June.

Jindal stated that the industry believes the situation is urgent due to global trade uncertainties. He argued that protecting domestic companies from what he called substandard dumped material from countries such as China, Vietnam, and Indonesia is essential for safeguarding the growing Indian market.

The industry is currently awaiting the DGTR's decision to begin its investigation.
