US assigns final subsidy rate to South Korea’s hot-rolled steel

According to a notice on August 14, 2025, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced its final ruling of countervailing duty (CVD) administrative review, determining that South Korea’s Hyundai Steel and POSCO, received countervailable subsidies for their sale of hot-rolled steel flat products, the subject goods under the review, during the period of review from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

As a result, a net countervailable subsidy rate of 2.21% is assigned to Hyundai Steel, and POSCO received 1.47%.
