US’ hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel exports totaled around 106,000 tons in June, hiking by 2.4% from the previous month but falling by 12% from the same month a year ago, according to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC).

Mexico remained the top export destination with procurement of roughly 61,400 tons, down by 1% month on month and by 7% year on year. Canada ranked second with 43,600 tons, and exports to other destinations were relatively low.

The value of these imports was nearly US$154 million, a month-on-month rise of 1.2% and a year-on-year fall of 12%.
