India’s BC Jindal Group to invest in new Odisha steel plant

India’s BC Jindal Group will invest Rs 15,000 crore in a new greenfield downstream steel plant in Odisha by 2030, with the first Rs 2,500-crore phase targeting 960,000 tons of coated steel capacity by 2027. The facilities in this investment include a cold rolling mill, a continuous galvanising line, and a color coating line. 

The project, developed through Jindal India Steel Tech Limited, will eventually expand flat product capacity to 3 million tons annually by 2030, plus a 200,000-ton steel pipe plant.
