Hoa Phat Group has successfully produced the first batch of iron from the blast furnace No. 2 at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex, completing the project's second phase.

Designed by the Netherlands’ Danieli Corus, the new 2,500m3 furnace doubles the liquid iron output of the previous model while consuming less energy. The facility uses European technology lines, allowing for higher product quality, increased production efficiency, and reduced CO2 emissions.

After the expansion, the group's total steel output has increased to 16 million tons per year, including 9 million tons of hot rolled coils (HRC). The Dung Quat 2 project, with an investment of VND 85 trillion, will specialize in high-quality HRC, serving industries such as automotive, food, and petrochemicals.
