Angang Steel Co., Ltd. recently achieved the global debut of its AG785 spherical tank steel with 785MPa-grade high toughness and high-pressure resistance for deep-sea containers. This product meets end-users’ customized needs for ultra-high pressure design, addressing challenges such as material performance and manufacturing formability, thereby effectively supporting the advancement of national major engineering demonstration projects.

The research team at Angang Steel Technical Center actively collaborated with users to form a joint task force, participated in project design, clarified and quantified performance indicators meeting design requirements, and innovatively developed an integrated toughening process technology for AG785 steel through coordinated optimization of rolling-heat treatment. This successfully broke through material performance bottlenecks, achieving an original breakthrough from theory to practical application.
