Baosteel maintains steel prices for Oct

Baosteel, a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group, announced that it would maintain its domestic steel prices for hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils, steel plates, and wire rods for October, ending the consecutive price increase in two months.

Although the raw material cost remained high, the export demand is low. Furthermore, the demand was not good in September. Therefore, Baosteel's new flat price is in line with market expectations.

Taiwan's China Steel Corporation (CSC) will announce its new price on September 18. Affected by the high raw material costs, CSC was expected to hike its hot-rolled coil price by NT$500/ton.
