Canada starts expiry review on corrosion-resistant steel sheet from Turkey, Vietnam

A A A
On September 9, 2025, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its finding made on November 16, 2020, on certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet imported from Turkey and Vietnam.

The original finding in 2020 addressed the dumping of the subject goods from Turkey (excluding Borçelik Çelik Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.) and Vietnam, as well as the subsidization of Turkish materials (excluding Atakaş Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Borçelik Çelik Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., and Tatmetal Çelik Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.Ş.).

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will first assess if ending these measures would likely lead to a resumption or continuation of dumping and subsidizing. A decision from the CBSA is expected no later than February 6, 2026. If the finding is affirmative, the CITT will then determine by July 16, 2026, whether continued protection is necessary to prevent injury to Canadian steel producers.
