US raises HDG steel exports in Jul m-o-m

US’ hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel exports totaled around 107,000 tons in July, hiking by 1.3% from the previous month but falling by 15% from the same month a year ago, according to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC).

Mexico, the top export destination in the previous month, remained the first with procurement of roughly 61,500 tons, up by 0.14% month on month and down by 19% year on year. Canada ranked second with 45,100 tons, and exports to other destinations were relatively low.

The value of these imports was approximately US$158 million, a month-on-month hike of 2.9% and a year-on-year fall of 9%.
