On September 18, 2025, Henan Steel Group officially launched its high-magnetic-induction electrical steel production line at its Anyang base. The new line helps fill a gap in Henan province’s high-end electromagnetic new materials sector and moves the company closer to its goal of producing advanced steel.

This new facility, with an investment of CNY 1.34 billion, is the first of its kind in Henan province and only the fourth in China with full-process production capability. It has an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of pickling and 60,000 tons of high-magnetic-induction electrical steel, a product essential for high-end transformers and new energy equipment.

The project will help break the dominance of foreign products in this market. The company also aims to attract downstream businesses to create a multi-billion-dollar electrical steel industrial cluster.
