CAA: Argentina's crude steel production increases 6.8% y-o-y in Aug

26 Sep 2025 16:02 reported by Raul Lee

A A A
According to data from the Argentine Steel Chamber (CAA), the country's crude steel production reached 370,300 tons in August of this year, a year-over-year increase of 6.8% and an increase of 13.1% compared to the previous month.

During the month, the construction sector remained sluggish due to fewer cement shipments; the automotive sector registered a monthly increase of 20% but a year-over-year decrease of 13.8%; meanwhile, demand from the agricultural machinery sector is still low, hoping for a positive outlook later.

For 2025, CAA expects the steel demand to be slightly higher than in 2024, although it will remain below the levels achieved in previous years.
