Chinese hot-rolled coil (HRC) is subject to anti-dumping measures from Vietnam and will be withdrawn from the Vietnamese market. However, Indonesian steel mills have benefited from this, with strong sales to Vietnam recently.

Two Indonesian mills have secured approximately 250,000 tons of HRC for December delivery. Last week, weak demand for HRC in the Vietnamese market, and the performance of China's steel futures market was poor. Furthermore, there is still inventory in December, and even though Indonesian mills have started placing orders for January 2026 delivery, customer interest remains low.
