CSC group’s shipments rise in Sep due to restocking demand

Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) Group's total shipments reached 823,000 tons in September, up by 31,000 tons from the previous month, surpassing the target of 800,000 tons. The growth was mainly due to domestic customers restocking inventories and placing urgent orders.

CSC group's domestic sales alone exceeded their target by 11,000 tons, reaching 441,000 tons. Overseas shipments also performed well, totaling 382,000 tons, due to stable weather and smooth delivery logistics.

Looking ahead, CSC expects that global steel demand will rebound from its low point, driven by inventory replenishment in the US and accelerated infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia. Besides, tightened supply from China's production cuts is also expected to support the market.
