Taiwan’s CSC expected to keep Nov steel prices flat amid weak market sentiment

Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) will announce its November domestic prices this week. As Vietnam’s Hoa Phat and China’s Baosteel both maintained flat pricing and the anticipated peak season rebound in September and October did not occur, the market expects CSC and Vietnam's Formosa Ha Tinh Steel to also keep their November and December prices unchanged to stabilize the market.

Industry sources noted that the global steel market shows no significant change, and rising trade barriers in regions such as the EU made sentiment more cautious. As fourth-quarter demand has not improved and tariff issues persist, market confidence remains weak. CSC’s earlier price hikes in September and October provided limited support. At present, the market can only cautiously resist imported materials, and any price increases would give imports an opportunity to gain market share.
