Taiwan’s Yusco & Tang Eng files official complaint to seek AD action against Vietnam’s cold-rolled stainless steel

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two major stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, have filed an official complaint with the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance on October 9, seeking an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into Vietnamese cold-rolled stainless steel.

The companies claimed that low-priced imports from Vietnam are severely injuring the domestic industry, saying a surge in import volume during 2024 caused a drop in local producers' market share and operating profit.

The application requests the government to immediately launch an AD investigation, impose formal AD duties, and implement provisional AD duties during the investigation period for emergency relief. Local firms affirmed that the low-priced goods suppress domestic pricing, jeopardizing the entire industry chain's stability and sustainable development.
