U.S. Steel hikes Galvalume coating extras due to higher aluminum prices

21 Oct 2025 14:41 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
U.S. Steel announced significant increases to its Galvalume coating extras, effective on November 2, 2025. The increases range from 30% to 49% across all Galvalume products, averaging around 36%.

The adjustment is due to sharply rising aluminum prices, which recently hit a three-year high. Since Galvalume sheet uses an aluminum/zinc coating, the increase in aluminum costs has directly driven up manufacturing expenses.
