According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, China exported 6.4 million tons of steel plates in September 2025, down 6.1% compared with the same month last year. From January to September, total exports reached 54.48 million tons, a 0.8% year-on-year decrease.
Meanwhile, China exported 1.68 million tons of steel bars in September, an increase of 25% year on year. Exports of angle bars and profiles totaled 730,000 tons in September, up 26.7% year on year, bringing the total for January to September to 5.76 million tons, a 37.5% increase. Steel wire rod exports grew the fastest in September, reaching 270,000 tons, up 32.6%, with a cumulative export volume of 2.22 million tons in the first nine months.
