Taiwan’s stainless steel mills focus on client retention amid market weakness

6 Nov 2025 15:39 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwan's domestic stainless steel manufacturers have released November pricing with minimal adjustments. Facing a weakened market marked by poor domestic and export performance, mills are prioritizing client stability over market expansion.

Manufacturers noted that pricing differences between upstream mills have narrowed significantly. Additionally, the negotiation range offered to downstream clients has become more flexible. This reflected a conservative buying sentiment among downstream users.

Upstream mills are adjusting pricing to closely align with customer needs, acknowledging that securing orders from established, loyal clients is crucial in the current slow market. The current market situation makes it difficult for mills to win over competitors' customers, leading to a strategy centered on retaining their core business base.
