Turkey’s CRC imports grow in Q1-Q3, South Korea leads supply

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's cold-rolled coil (CRC) imports amounted to around 800,000 tons in the first three quarters of this year, increasing by 39% compared to the same period a year ago. The value of these imports also hiked by 16% year on year to US$519 million.

Among them, South Korea supplied the most CRC to Turkey during the period, totaling about 249,000 tons, up by 47% year on year.

In September alone, Turkey imported around 87,000 tons of CRC, rising by 24% month on month and by 15% year on year. The value generated by these imports was US$55.5 million, a month-on-month fall of 4% and a year-on-year growth of 23%. South Korea supplied 21,500 tons in the month.
