EAEU launches AD review on China’s welded stainless steel pipes

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has initiated a repeat anti-dumping (AD) investigation on welded stainless steel pipes and profiles from China. Local producers, including Sinarsky Pipe Plant, Globus-Stal, Marcegaglia Ru, and Baltinox, are seeking to extend the protective duties currently set to expire on March 13, 2026.

According to the EEC, imports from China doubled between 2022 and 2024 and rose by 12% from July 2024 to June 2025, which caused the market share held by EAEU producers to decrease, even as the local output increased.

The domestic industry argued that ending the duties, which range from 14.62% to 17.28%, will threaten to harm EAEU producers because Chinese prices are lower and the country's strong capacity risks flooding the market with cheap products.

The products involved are welded pipes, tubes, and hollow profiles made of stainless steel with a wall thickness of 0.4 to 6 mm, in a round, square, and rectangular cross-section. These products are under HS codes 7306 40 200 9, 7306 40 800 1, 7306 40 800 8, and 7306 61 100 9.
