Taiwan’s Yusco raises 304 stainless steel prices for Dec on market optimism

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Taiwan, has reversed its recent trend, announcing a price increase for its December stainless steel contracts due to optimism over future market developments and rising costs.

Yusco raises the price of its 304 hot-rolled and cold-rolled products by NT$1,000/ton, and the price for 316L and 430 stainless steel will remain unchanged.

Although raw material costs decreased slightly, Yusco attributed the rise in overall production expenses to a weaker Taiwanese dollar. Demand is strengthened by European customers preparing for future EU quota policies, and India’s extension of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) product certification deadline until March 31, 2026, which is supporting domestic export momentum.

Besides, the company also foresees market confidence and post-conflict reconstruction opportunities following the cessation of a major international conflict.
