US hot-dip galvanized steel exports fall in Aug m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), US exports of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel decreased to about 101,700 tons in August, falling by 4.9% compared to the previous month and by 24.2% from the same month last year.

The total export value also weakened, dropping to US$148.8 million from US$193.8 million in August 2024.

Mexico was the top destination, receiving roughly 57,200 tons, but volumes there also fell month on month and year on year. Canada was the second-largest buyer at 43,800 tons.
