ArcelorMittal hikes ferro-alloy surcharge on flat steel products

15 Dec 2025 15:02 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
ArcelorMittal is implementing an increase in its ferro-alloy surcharge on flat carbon steel products, including coil.

This decision is to respond to rising input costs following the European Commission's introduction of new safeguard measures and a tariff-rate quota on imported ferro-alloys. The new tariffs have raised the cost of materials important for steel production.

The size of the additional surcharge varies by product. Bulk commodity volumes will see a modest adjustment of EUR 2-5/ton, while around 10 to 15% of the company's orderbook will face a higher added cost of EUR 10/ton. Speciality steel grades are subject to greater increases, reaching up to EUR 20-50/ton for certain products.
