US decreases CRC imports in Aug m-o-m, y-o-y

According to preliminary data from the US Census Bureau under the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 65,500 tons of cold-rolled coils (CRC) in August, a 35% decrease from the previous month and a 45% drop compared to the same month a year earlier.

Among them, Canada led with about 21,100 tons, a month-on-month fall of 1.4% and a year-on-year decrease of 47%. South Korea ranked second with about 7,800 tons, followed by Vietnam with 5,600 tons and Turkey with 5,400 tons.

The total import value for these products was around US$63 million, down by 35% month on month and by 49% year on year.
