Nucor again hikes HRC base prices

16 Dec 2025 15:11 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Nucor Corporation, the largest steel producer in the US, has again raised its hot-rolled coil (HRC) base price by US$10 per short ton, setting the new general quote at US$940 per short ton, continuing an eight-week streak of increases that totals US$65 per short ton since October 27.

Besides, Nucor subsidiary California Steel Industries (CSI) lifted its HRC base price to US$990 per short ton for West Coast markets. This US$50/short ton premium over the general Nucor price indicates tighter supply conditions on the West Coast.

This price difference reflects higher regional transport costs and CSI's role in serving local aerospace and specialty manufacturers who place high value on its capabilities.
