Nucor halts HRC price hikes for Jan 2026

Nucor Corporation, the largest steel producer in the US, maintained its hot-rolled coil (HRC) Consumer Spot Price (CSP) at US$950/short ton for January. This decision ends a nine-week streak of consecutive increases that added US$65 to the total cost since mid-October.

Meanwhile, its California Steel Industries (CSI) joint venture maintains a higher CSP of US$1,000/ton.

Lead times for these products remain steady at three to five weeks. By pausing the upward trend, the largest American steelmaker provides a moment of stability for buyers.
