Taiwan’s CSC raises Feb steel prices by NT$300/ton

China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan’s leading carbon steel producer, has announced a price increase of NT$300/ton for all product categories for February, including hot-rolled coil and plate, cold-rolled coil, electro-galvanized (EG) steel coil, hot-dip galvanized steel coil, and electrical steel (ES) coil. This decision responds to rising production costs, as iron ore and coking coal prices remain strong.

The company pointed to a stabilizing global economy, noting that interest rate cuts in the US and fiscal stimulus in Europe and China are reviving demand. Besides, international steel prices in the US and Europe show upward momentum.

CSC expects a new inventory replenishment cycle to begin as stockpiles remain low. By adjusting rates now, the company aims to reflect market trends while encouraging domestic clients to secure inventory ahead of an expected industry upturn.
