Taiwan extends AD investigation on cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel from South Korea & China

21 Jan 2026 16:51 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs announced an extension for the preliminary industry injury investigation involving cold-rolled, flat-rolled non-oriented electrical steel products imported from South Korea and China. Following a petition by China Steel Corporation (CSC), the deadline for the initial determination is now February 13, 2026.

The Ministry applied the extension due to the complexity of the data requiring verification. The case examines whether these imports entered the Taiwanese market at unfair prices, harming domestic producers. If the probe confirms dumping, the government may impose provisional duties or retroactive taxes covering the 90 days prior.

This material is an important component for motors and electric vehicle supply chains, making the final ruling significant for downstream industrial costs.
