Chung Hung Steel raises Feb prices for carbon steel & galvanized products

Chung Hung Steel Corporation (CHSC), a Taiwan-based carbon steel producer under China Steel Corporation (CSC), announced its February domestic price adjustments yesterday (January 22). The company raised prices for hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel by NT$300 per ton, and galvanized products had a higher increase of NT$500 per ton.

This move encouraged downstream coating plants to align their pricing, with reports already indicating a NT$500 per ton hike for galvanized steel starting next week.

Market participants said that these adjustments reflect rising global raw material costs and expectations of further increases in CSC’s March prices. As Chung Hung implements these base price hikes, other independent rerolling mills are expected to announce similar upward revisions for their coated steel products.
