Taiwan's Feb stainless steel prices set for 3rd consecutive rise

Taiwan's stainless steel plate and wire rod prices are expected to rise again in February, marking a rare third consecutive monthly increase since last year.

Upstream stainless steel mills are set to announce new price lists this week, with wire rod prices likely to see larger gains than plate products.

The latest round of price increases has been driven primarily by rising raw material costs, particularly higher prices for slabs and 304 black surface materials exported by Tsingshan Group in Indonesia.

The increases are driven by higher raw material and alloy costs, including rising prices for imported slabs and key alloys such as nickel, copper, chromium, and molybdenum, which have continued to climb since the start of the year.
