Taiwan’s CSC increases all steel prices by NT$500 per ton for Mar

China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan’s leading carbon steel producer, raised its prices for all products by NT$500 per ton for March. The price hikes apply to hot-rolled steel plates and coils, cold-rolled coils, electro-galvanized (EG) steel coils, hot-dip galvanized steel coils, and electrical steel (ES) coils.

A global economic recovery and stabilizing manufacturing demand drive this decision. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently increased its global growth forecast to 3.3%. Besides, steel production costs remain high as iron ore stays between US$100 and US$105 per ton while metallurgical coal exceeds US$250 per ton.

International markets also show positive trends. Major mills like Baowu and Ansteel have increased their prices by around US$14 per ton. Lower US interest rates and Taiwan’s strong export performance further support market confidence. CSC aims to align with these global trends while helping downstream customers seize opportunities arising from the rebound in demand.
