AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Jan 31 rises y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on January 31, 2026, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.758 million net tons, decreasing by 1.1% from a week ago and by rising by 3.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, down by 0.9 percentage points week on week and by 0.3 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending on January 31, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 7.774 million net tons, rising by 3.4% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, down by 0.3 percentage points year on year.
